POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Heat Transfer
     POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the hydrocarbons refining, petrochemical, and/or closely related energy process industries.
  • Proven experience with heat transfer equipment, schedules and project administration.
  • Experience with HTRI, HTFS or equal thermal design rating programs, mechanical design programs and the relevant ASME, API and TEMA codes as they apply to heat transfer equipment.
  • Specific experience with the thermal and mechanical design of shell & tube, air cooled, double pipe, etc., heat exchangers, boilers, fired heaters and cooling towers.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.

     POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the data sheets and general narrative specifications comply with the latest acceptable industry standards
  • Collect historical data from projects relative to the following: heat transfer equipment vendor's technical performance, cost and delivery data from bid tabs for various types of heat exchangers, and man hours for various phases of Heat Transfer Engineering activities.
  • Determine and maintain status of work assignments of the various subordinate Heat Transfer Engineers, ensure that schedules for various projects are met, and set-up technical training sessions with vendors or suppliers of heat transfer equipment.
  • Have overall technical responsibility for all of Commonwealth’s Heat Transfer Engineering activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the all Heat Transfer Engineers.
